A Proud Moment for Our Recitation Class

Our Bengali Recitation class led by Ms Smriti Sen continues to grow from strength to strength. Our members, Ms I. Banerjee, Ms S. Chattopadhyay, Ms S. Guhathakurta, and Ms G. Roy, meet every week to read and discuss Bengali poetry. They recently performed at an event to celebrate poetry recitation, organised by Udbhas, a Bengali Recitation Academy founded by Ms Sen.

Held at the West Bengal Bangla Academy, the event saw each member recite a poem and receive a memento in recognition of their participation. Ms Chattopadhyay was honoured as Best Performer. All of them reminded us that learning and artistic development can continue well into our later years.

Ms Banerjee, who performed for the first time on stage, said, “Thanks to Support Elders, I was able to do this. It feels like an achievement, and my children are extremely proud of me.”
