A trip to North East India

From 3rd June to 7th June, 2024, Support Elders organized a memorable five-day trip to Shillong and Guwahati for its members. This was their first trip by flight, covering a distance of 1004 km from Kolkata. The Support Elders team was present at the airport to welcome each member, ensuring a wonderful and safe experience throughout the journey.
A group of 16 members, accompanied by three Support Elders team members, embarked on their adventure by boarding a flight from Kolkata to Guwahati. Upon arrival, they were carefully seated in waiting vehicles and began their breathtaking journey to Shillong, which left everyone feeling ecstatic. After checking into the hotel and enjoying a restful break, the group had lunch and set off for an afternoon of sightseeing. They visited the Shillong Peak, the Air Force Museum, and several other local attractions.
The following day, after a hearty breakfast, the group departed for Cherrapunji. There, they explored the Mausmai Caves, marvelled at the Nohkalikai Falls and Seven Sisters Falls, and visited the Ramakrishna Mission. They also savoured the local cuisine at a restaurant near the Mausmai Caves. Returning to Shillong in the evening, our members enjoyed a leisurely shopping trip at the famous Police Bazar.
On the third day, after breakfast, our members journeyed to Mawsynram village, known for receiving the highest rainfall in the world. They visited the Mawjymbuin Caves, Khreng Khreng Falls, and other notable sites, before heading back to Shillong for a night's rest. On the fourth day, our members travelled back to Guwahati. After lunch, they visited the famous Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, and Tirupati Balaji Temple.
Early the next morning, following breakfast, everyone departed for Guwahati airport to board their flight back to Kolkata. The Support Elders team diligently ensured that each member reached home safely, concluding a delightful and wellorganized trip.
