Bonding over Brews
Our members are not satisfied merely sipping on their brews.
Many of them were eager to know
more about the finer aspects of tea
cultivation and brewing. And so,
we organised a tea-tasting event
at Karma Kettle, led by sommelier
Roni Das. The session
introduced members
to a variety of teas,
including Darjeeling,
Oolong, Lapsang
Souchong, and
blooming tea. Each tea,
beautifully presented, allowed our
members to appreciate the colours
and aromas. Our member Mr M.
Deb said, ‘This was a very unusual experience. The array of teas, the
presentation, was impressive, and
the talk was very enlightening!’
The event, complete with finger
sandwiches and cakes, ended on
a high note with the preparation
of a refreshing tisane iced tea. The
members’ questions and curiosity
sparked lively discussions, making
it an evening filled with warmth,
enriching discovery, and, of course,
perfect brews.
Memoir Makers
We held a two-day Journal and
Memoir Writing Workshop at Gallery Charubasona,
where 15 members explored
personal storytelling through
writing prompts. Participants
shared heartfelt memories ranging
from childhood reflections to
family histories. The workshop
encouraged creativity and
connection, leaving everyone
inspired to continue writing and
sharing their stories. Member Ms R.
Ghosh said, “The discussions were
extremely stimulating. Everyone’s
writing had a striking individuality.
I look forward to more such
workshops in the future.”
