HOMEMADE DELIGHT
Chingri Bata (Mashed Prawn Curry)
Our member Ms. G. Das has shared
a mouthwatering recipe for prawn
lovers.
Ingredients:
● Medium-sized prawn - 500g
● Onion - 1
● Green Chilly - 2 or 3 or to taste
● Coriander leaves - 2 sprigs
● Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
● Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
● Salt - to taste
Method:
Take medium-sized prawns, cleaned, peeled and deveined, with the tails and heads removed. Use fresh prawns as frozen prawns don’t taste as good. Cut each prawn into 3 pieces. Marinate the prawns with salt, turmeric powder and mix well. Cover and set aside for 15 minutes.
Take a pan and add 1/2 cup water to it. When it is heated, add the prawns and cook till it is dry. Remove it in a bowl to cool. Now, add 1 tbsp mustard oil to the pan and add 1 medium-sized chopped onion, sauté and remove from fire. Now, mash the prawns well and add the sautéed onions. Add green chilly paste and chopped 2 sprigs of coriander leaves. Mix everything well and add 1 tbsp of mustard oil to it. Give it a toss and plate it.
