Purulia–the land of Palash

After the resounding success of overnight and short excursions, Support Elders organised a four-day trip to Purulia, renowned for its resplendent Palash flowers at this time of the year. Two spirited groups, totalling sixty-seven members, embarked on this adventure.
From the time they arrived at the station, the Support Elders team were ready to take care of each one of them. Golf carts had been arranged to take them to their respective coaches. The team ensured that they settled comfortably in their seats, while they took care of the members' luggage. On reaching Purulia, our members checked into a comfortable hotel for the night.
Early next morning, our members started for the Ayodhya Hills. Wheelchairs had been arranged for members who had mobility issues. Upon arrival at the resort there, our members were warmly welcomed with refreshing beverages. After freshening up our members enjoyed a delicious lunch. Then, they were taken to experience the serene beauty of Marvel Lake and Bamni Falls. Amidst the ethereal surroundings, they were greeted by elegant peacocks moving around. All through, the Support Elders team were watchful and alert and ensured that the members enjoyed themselves without encountering any difficulty.
The evening began with a delectable array of vegetable and chicken pakodas, accompanied by tea and biscuits. The entire trip was planned meticulously so that the members could enjoy every moment of it. A vibrant Chhau dance was arranged in the evening, which was greatly enjoyed by our members.
The following day, after a hearty breakfast, everyone set out to explore the Upper and Lower dams and Chorida, which is also known as Mukhosh Gram as this is where the masks, used in Chhau dance, are made. After that our members visited Ushuldungri —a remote village where they viewed a spectacular sunset. Our caregivers helped our members negotiate the undulating country lanes, when they visited the different sights. The vibrant beauty of the palash flowers that adorned most of Purulia made the trip even more beautiful.
The Support Elders team were constantly with our members—at the different sights, within the resort, and especially while boarding and deboarding from vehicles. It was delightful to see the laughter and happiness on the faces of our members as they returned home safely with wonderful memories.
