Golapful Mishti

With Poila Boishakh round the corner we bring you a special recipe by our member Ms R. R. Das.

For dough
● Maida: ½ kg
● Milk: ½ cup
Ghee: 1 tbsp
● Oil: ½ Litre
For sugar syrup
● Sugar: 1cup
● Water: 2 cups

Add ghee to the maida and mix it well and keep aside. Boil the milk and add the maida slowly, while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cool it a little and knead it into a soft dough. Now roll it into a 3mm flat circle. Take a small round cutter of 2-inch diameter and cut out 3 circles. Place 2 of the circles on top of each other. Now, from the centre point make 3 cuts to the edge to make 3 equal triangles. Take the 3rd circle and make 1 cut from the centre point to the edge. Twist and roll this piece into a small conical shape to place it in the centre of the 2 circles. Lift the sides of the 2 circles to shape them like petals. Simultaneously place 2 cups of water to boil and add 1 cup sugar to it. Stir and dissolve it completely to make a thick syrup. Fry the roses and then dip them in the sugar syrup for a few minutes. Plate them and garnish with sliced almonds.
