MD Speak

Dear Reader,

Last couple of months have been really invigorating for us as we started planning offline events once again, while adhering to the essential precautions that have become an integral part of our lives in the new normal. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and eagerness of our members. Not only were they keen on joining the trip, but also on participating in the planning process itself. However, just to reiterate what I’ve mentioned earlier—irrespective of the number of offline events we hold, we will continue to offer our online bouquet of ECS offerings—regular and special events, discussions, clubs and communities over the digital platform. These virtual offerings have become an essential part of the lives of most of our members, especially those who are unable to step out of their homes for different reasons. Along with our 24x7 support in case of medical emergencies and exigencies, out-of-home assistance and so on, we feel glad that they can make most of this service as well.

Responding to popular demand for regular monitoring of health as well as other parameters to ensure comfort and convenience, we upgraded our Well@Home solution. Now, this technology intensive solution captures relevant data at our members’ homes to enable effective tracking and monitoring of selected parameters for overall wellbeing.

Ratha Jatra

On the festive occasion of Ratha Jatra, Ms Ratna Saha recites Tagore’s poem ‘Ratha Jatra’, while some of our other members share their childhood memories of this festival. A few members also showcase their paintings of Ratha Jatra.

Zain-ul Abideen Hasan is known for coining the slogan "Jai Hind". He had quit his engineering studies in Germany to become Netaji's secretary and interpreter for the cause of independence. Along with his work and life, our members will share some of their memories of 15th August 1947.

An evening dedicated to Goddess Durga, the symbol of courage and destruction of evil. Our members sing songs to welcome Goddess Durga on the occasion of ‘Mahalaya’.

Heritage Festivities

Ms Pramita Datta Nath speaks about her family Durga pujo of Datta Bari located near Thanthania Kali bari. She highlights the rituals and traditions of her family pujo, from the making of the idol at their natmandir to its immersion on Dashami.
