Stepping in with the Right Level of Care
Our Well@Home Level 3 service provides intensive, coordinated support for members recovering at home after surgery or trauma care. One such member in Kolkata, aged 85, recently benefited from this solution.
In August 2025, our member suffered a serious fall at home, resulting in a pelvic fracture that required surgery. She returned home bed-ridden and distressed, with multiple health concerns, including severe bed sores, an elevated heart rate, hearing loss, and hyperthyroidism.
Although she had care attendants and household help in place, her daughter, visiting her from the UK, felt she required more structured support and approached us in September. Recognising the complexity of her condition, our team implemented a structured care plan. Regular monitoring, hygiene management, physiotherapy, medical follow-ups, and counselling sessions with our partner doctor in the UK formed the backbone of the intervention. A Care Integrator (CI) worked closely with the family and on-ground caregivers to ensure continuity of care and attention
to detail.
Gradually, steady improvements followed. She is now able to walk with support using a walker, and the severity of her bed sores has reduced. Moreover, her food intake has improved, and she is able to
communicate more clearly.
Her daughter, who was present during the first month of care, said, “Receiving regular, reliable, detailed updates from the CI team about my mother, especially after I left for the UK, gave me tremendous peace of mind.” Reassured by the team’s involvement, she later opted for additional CI visits.
Our Well@Home services continue to demonstrate how consistent monitoring and patient-centred care can restore stability and comfort even in advanced age, allowing members to feel safe, supported, and cared for at home.
